Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Hurricane, Utah. "I am a school teacher and I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I attended and graduated from college. I am a school teacher of 30 years. I enjoy teaching high school students. A great blessing in my life is my wife and a family of 6 children (2 girls and 4 boys). I find great joy watching them grow and progress in life. We have 3 of our children married and have 6 grandchildren and 2 on the way. My wife is a great support to me and is a wonderful person. She is the light of my life and does a great job dealing with all the family needs.

Why I am a Mormon

In my life I have had great blessings and great challenges as a member of His church. I want you to know that I couldn't get through the challenges of life if I didn't know there was a God in Heaven and a loving Savior to help support me in my many times of trials as well as enjoying the times of reward with me. I am grateful for the temple where I have been married for time and all eternity to my sweet wife. I know there is a Plan of Salvation that will provide a way for my family to return back to Our Heavenly Father after we pass on in life and we can eventually be back together as a family again. A couple of challenges in my life included having gallstones and a gallbladder removal at age 12. At age 21, I had a massive heart attack that the doctors told me I would have to take medication the rest of my life. Well, through much faith, fasting, prayers by many ward members, and a special Priesthood blessing from Heavenly Father, given by one of my church leaders, I received a complete recovery. I was able to recover rapidly and I don't have to take any medication which I was told by medical doctors that I would have to take the rest of my life. I know that Heavenly Father blessed me during this time of health issues in my life. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, leads guides and directs his church here on earth just like in the Bible times. Back then were prophets like Adam, Moses, Noah, Abraham in the Old Testament and Peter, James & John in the New Testament. I know that we have Twelve Modern day Apostles on the earth today like they had back in New Testament times. I know that the Prophet Joseph Smith was visited by Our Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ back in the 1800's and was the person called to restore the church back on the earth. I have a strong testimony of this church and I know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and yes I am also known as a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am active in my ward. I have served in the scouting program for many years in my ward. I have helped over 25 boys receive their Eagle Scout Award. I am currently serving on the scout committee. I am a home teacher where my son and I have the opportunity to visit three families in our ward on a monthly basis. This gives us a chance to share a short message with them and see how they are doing. I have served in many callings in my Ward over the last thirty years and have enjoyed working and getting to know other ward members. Through these Ward callings I have had my testimony of our Savior strengthened from the experiences I have had.
