Hi I'm TaraKay

I love music, I crave for knowledge and understanding, and I strive to be the best I can. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up a military child with my father serving active duty in the Army. Moving every two to three years, living in four different countries, contirbutes to who I am today. Every where I go, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints remains constant and has helped me throughout my life. I love people. Cultures, history, and music are my passions. I am attending college right now while my family is far away. My family means the world to me and all five of us siblings are best friends, along with my parents. I love learning and the power that it gives me, and I can't wait to explore my ideas as a music therapist. I also love sports.

Why I am a Mormon

One night, when I was about ten years old I was having the hardest time to think happy thoughts. I felt Satan's influence on me so strong, which frightened me to the core. I quickly prayed for comfort and peace. Soon after, I remembered learning in Primary (children's version of Sunday school) how singing a church song can help you feel the holy ghost and chase away bad thoughts. Right away these words to a children's primary song titled "A Child's Prayer" came to mind: Sung by a Child: Heavenly Father, are you really there? and do you hear and answer every child's prayer. Some say that Heaven is far away, but I feel it close around me as I pray. Heavenly Father, I remember now, something that Jesus told Disciples long ago. Suffer the children to come to me, Father in prayer I'm coming now to thee. Sung by a Mother/Father: Pray, He is there. Speak, He is listening. You are his child, his love now surrounds you. He hears your prayer, He loves the children, of such is the Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heav'n After just singing the first line in my head, "Heavenly Father, are you really there?" I felt a burning sensation in my chest that ran through my entire body described in the scriptures as the Holy Ghost. Tears came to my eyes as I knew I have a father in heaven who is watching out for me, that he loves me and knows the desires of my heart. He hears and answers my prayers, I know without a doubt. With this knowledge, over time came other knowledge of knowing that the Book of Mormon is a book of truth, along with the Bible. I prayed after reading both books and asked Heavenly Father if it was true, and I felt that same sensation as I did when I was a child. Since the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith, a prophet of God is also true and has passed authorized keys of the priesthood to the prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. I love my church. I will shout out its truth to the world. I long for others to feel the peace, comfort and happiness it brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I have several goals that I work on a daily basis. I strive to better myself in every way I can. Charity is the pure love of Christ. I live my faith by helping those around me. I love meeting new people. I love listening to inspiring music that can lift and strengthen one's mood. I pray and read my scriptures every day, so that I can have the Holy Ghost with me. I attend two institute classes which teach about the scriptures and their importance. I am also preparing to serve a mission this summer, so that I can share and teach of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love and the happiness it brings to others if they do these things.
