Hi I'm Mark Walstad

I'm a business student at Utah Valley University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending Utah Valley University and I am studying Business. Although I don't consider myself very good I thoroughly enjoy drawing, painting, water colors, and working with pastels. I am wanting to get a minor in Spanish which I learned in South Texas where I served a two year LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have firm faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his divine Atonement. I was fortunate enough to learn about the church through my mother who was a member and my father although he was not a member was a very devout Christian. I noticed at a very early age that there was always a sweet spirit in the church buildings that I attended and as I heard the testimonies of others which were given regarding the restoration of Christ's gospel I felt a warm stirring feeling which I came to recognize as the spirit of God. One of the most profound conversion experiences that I have had came as I read from Alma 32 in the Book of Mormon. This particular chapter encourages us to try whether or not something is good or from God by testing it to see if good things really will come from it. He compares this test to planting a seed to see whether or not it will grow and bring forth good fruit. As I pondered on this I felt again the spirit of God come upon me and witness that I had been able to partake of the good fruit of the Book of Mormon and that it truly had taught me to do good and to come unto Jesus Christ. At that time, however, I decided that I must also pray to God to know whether or not it be true. As I did so I felt such a strong confirmation that it was. I know that anyone who does likewise will come to know even as I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God as is the Bible, and that God has restored his church as it was anciently today.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I strive to live my life in a way which is in accordance to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Although I understand that I am very imperfect I do my best to keep Christ's commandments. I feel that the family is divinely appointed and try to spend adequate time not only with my sweetheart but with my family which lives here in Provo, Utah. I believe that God is willing to direct our lives through His spirit as often as we are open to listen and follow his direction. For my wife and I we strive to daily keep ourselves worthy so that we can feel His spirit in our lives.
