Hi I'm Spencer Hale

I play in a Punk Rock/Reggae band called Right On Target. I love music, spending time with family and friends, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Spencer Hale, I'm 22 years old and I'm a Mormon. I played guitar and sang in a Punk Rock/Reggae band called "Right On Target" (www.facebook.com/rightontarget949) based in Atlanta, Georgia. We were very fortunate to play along side some of our favorite bands such as Unwritten Law, MxPx, Passafire and others. I love bands such as Strung Out, Pepper, Pour Habit, Blink-182, Unwritten Law and many more! Music consumes most of my time, and will continue to. I recently returned home from Cape Town South Africa where I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 2 years. I love serving the Lord and I love my friends and family and meeting new people. I love surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this is the same exact church that existed 2,000 years ago when Jesus Christ organized His church on the earth. I know for a period of time that church slowly fell away from the earth. I know that it has been restored to the earth by Jesus Christ himself through a prophet as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (http://mormon.org/beliefs/restoration). I'm grateful that we have a living prophet on the earth today and twelve apostles as well just as the primitive church did. I'm grateful for the direction and purpose I have in life. I feel so close to God as I go to this church and follow the commandments of God. I'm grateful that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ we can literally live with our families together forever (http://mormon.org/values/family). What a great blessing that is. This is what makes me happy, family, God, and life. I want it to last forever and it can through the Gospel of Jesus Christ (http://mormon.org/beliefs/plan-of-salvation). I want all of my friends, family, and the world to feel the joy and comfort that I treasure.

How I live my faith

Plain and simple, I try my best to follow the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ through the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Prophets.

Are Mormons Christians?

Spencer Hale
It sums it all up in our name. The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (http://mormon.org/faq/mormon-christian). We are one of the few churches in the world that I can think of that actually bares the name of Jesus Christ. "Therefore, whatsoever ye shall do, ye shall do it in my name; therefore ye shall call the church in my name; and ye shall call upon the Father in my name that he will bless the church for my sake. For if a church be called in Moses’ name then it be Moses’ church; or if it be called in the name of a man then it be the church of a man; but if it be called in my name then it is my church" 3 Nephi 27:7-8 We believe Jesus Christ is the Saviour and Redeemer of the world, the promised Messiah, and the Son of God. Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Spencer Hale
In addtion to the Bible, we, as members of the LDS church, also believe in a volume of scripture called the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is similar to the Bible in ways such as, both were written thousands of years ago by Prophets of God and contain the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon contains writings from numerous prophets over a period of close to a thousand years. Mormon was one of the prophets who compiled all the writings into one book and called it the Book of Mormon kind of like how in the Bible there is the Book of Isaiah and so forth. We are nicknamed "Mormons" by people because we believe in the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible. Show more Show less
