Hi I'm Caleb

I'm from West Jordan, Utah. I love playing sports, singing, and reading, going on adventures, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah my entire life, but I love traveling. Disneyland, the Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone are my favorite places to go. I have also traveled to Canada, Mexico, and New York City. I have 5 sisters and 1 brother, three nephews and six nieces. My family means everything to me. I perform on stage in Musical Theater, play viola and piano, and am learning new instruments. Music has always been a big part of my life and has made me who I am. I love playing and watching sports as well. My favorite teams are BYU, the Jazz, and Real Salt Lake. Basketball, Soccer, and Volleyball are my favorite sports to play, though I only play for fun. I recently returned from full-time missionary service in Virginia and North Carolina and I now attend Brigham Young University. I am studying Exercise Science and preparing for Physical Therapy school. But for now, I work on a Pizza Bus and travel all over the Salt Lake area in a big, red bus, selling pizzas! Food is important. I LOVE sushi. I eat ice cream regularly. My family grows vegetables in our backyard. And nothing beats a good hamburger cooked on the back porch, with a summer watermelon, and home grown tomatoes. I also love reading, hiking, history, and making friends. Wherever life puts me, I try my best to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. I have found that The Book of Mormon is true scripture about Jesus Christ. Through living the commandments, I have come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has all of Christ's teachings and blessings in one great church. The teachings that the Church teaches have taught me about who I am, where I came from, and my purpose on earth. The Mormon church is the only church that has a prophet who speaks with God and gives direction in modern times. No other church or religion can offer everything that the Mormon Church can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best every day to be like Christ. I try to be honest, virtuous, friendly, forgiving, trustworthy, and loving. I strive to live in a way that God would feel comfortable around me. I worship in the temple weekly. I study my scriptures daily. I thank God for my blessings in my prayers and seek His guidance and blessings in my day-to-day endeavors. I attend my weekly church meetings. Attending all three hours of church is important to me because in each part, I learn more about Christ and how I can be more like Him. I am far from perfect. I slip up and make mistakes more than I would like to admit, but I try every day to be better than I was yesterday, and that is what my faith in Jesus Christ means to me.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Our Father in Heaven is seen as our literal Father. Just as an earthly father should be, our Father in Heaven is concerned for well-being and happiness. He wants to play an active role in our lives. We come to know Him by permitting Him into our lives. We also come to know Him by speaking with Him frequently through prayer. He wants us to speak with Him just as we would an earthly father. We come to know Him by reading His words, the scriptures. Prayer is how we communicate with Him and the scriptures are how He communicates with us. Just as with any good relationship, communication is key. Finally, we can come to know our Father in Heaven by doing what He asks, or by keeping His commandments. By keeping His commandments, we live as He does. We also show that we care about Him and what He wants us to do. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is not easy, but it is the best way to live. We keep a high standard of living, including a health code, the law of chastity, paying a tithe, and serving in the Church. We are expected to be committed not only in our actions but in our minds and in our hearts. This may seem difficult at first, but by doing this, one is happier and more at peace. You find yourself amongst other happy and committed people and the church feels like a big family no matter where you go. By living this way, you have a stronger relationship with God.
