Hi I'm Shalamar

I'm a wife and mother of three. I never thought I'd find my place in life being a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother to three wonderful children. I love being a mother with all my heart. My children are my greatest accomplishments. They are my whole world and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to raise them. I have a sweet, hard-working husband who I've been happily married to for 9 years. I couldn't ask for more. I like to blog, exercise, read, craft and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the church but my family wasn't very active. I struggled through my childhood and teen years with my testimony of the gospel. It wasn't until I got married that I realized the importance of having the gospel apart of my life and the importance of eternal marriage. I knew many blessings awaited me if I chose to live worthy of receiving them. My husband and I decided to work toward an eternal marriage and a year after we were married, we went through the temple. I believe with all my heart that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church on this earth. I know that I am a daughter of God and he loves me. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us beyond measure and only wants us to be happy. Life is full of trials and tribulations but if we stay close to Him and endure, we will become stronger and our testimonies will be forever strengthened. I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God and atoned for our sins so we could live with him again. No one is perfect and that's why the Savior died for us. We can repent of our sins and become clean and worthy. Our burdens and guilt will be lifted and we can feel happiness and joy once again because of the Saviors incredible sacrifice. I know that when we pray, our Heavenly Father is listening. As we are humble and submissive to the spirit, He will answer our prayers. I'm so grateful to have an eternal family. I know that the family I create here on earth will remain a family forever as long as I stay worthy of that incredible blessing.

How I live my faith

I've had the amazing opportunity to serve and teach the young women, ages 12-17, in my ward. It has blessed my life for the past two and a half years in ways I never thought possible. It's amazing to see these young women stand so strong and true. I'm grateful for the opportunity to watch their testimonies grow.
