Hi I'm Gai

I'm a Mormon. I am a native Arizonian who grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother. I have a full time job that keeps me very busy. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and grandchildren. I love the commotion, the noise and chaos. I try to spend a little time with each grandchild alone as much as I can. This brings me great joy hearing of the things that are important to them. In my spare time. I love being with my husband during the quiet times in our lives. I love to go on walks and hiking in the beauties of God's creations. I love working out with yoga. I love reading the scriptures and words of our prophets as well as good books for pleasure. As I get older, I realize life is moving along at a very fast pace. There is so much to do and so much I would like to do. I find it very difficult to accomplish all that is important and all that I would love to be doing. I just try to keep up and do the best I can do. I love my family and hope that my life will be remembered as a woman who loves the Savior and who loves the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I want my children and grandchildren to know that they are loved by their mother and grandmother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very blessed to be born into a family who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. I have generations of LDS family members. The Church has always been a part of my life with parents, grandparents, great-grand parents and beyond who have left a legacy of faithfulness, obedience, faith and continued service in the Church. I relied on their testimonies for the first several years of my life. There came a point in my life when I had to know if this is the life I want for me. During my activity in the Church I was able to serve with others and hear of their testimonies. I grew up with great leaders who gave of their time in serving the Lord and fulfilling their callings. When I moved away from home and family to go to college, I realized during that time that I needed to find my own testimony. No one was beside me to make sure I got up every Sunday to attend church. My parents were not there to push me to do things I should. I think it was during my years away at school that my testimony was strengthened. I had to rely on the Lord totally on my own. I needed Him every hour and needed to pray for His guidance in my life. I know He is there. I know He lives. I know He knows who I am. I know he loves me and wants me to be happy. For me to be happy, I know I need to live the commandments and have faith that I can live with Him again if I do my part. I know the Gospel is true. I know the Gospel helps me to grow and become closer to my Savior. I love Him with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve in many callings in the Church. These callings have blessed my life. The children and youth in the Church are such strong valiant servants who teach me every day. I am currently the Relief Society President in our ward. I have grown so much by the teachings of my fellow sisters. They teach me about endurance, service, dedication and unconditional love. I love being close to the Lord during my service. He knows these sisters of whom I am blessed to be steward over. He loves them. He wants us to live with Him again. He wants us to attend the Temple and to be worthy of all the blessings that He has in store for us. I am grateful for callings that help me to grow, callings that are not comfortable for me. I have grown through my service and through the examples of others. I am grateful for a mother who served for years as a Relief Society President in her own ward and stake. I had the opportunity to watch her in her service to others and to the Lord. I watched her love others through service. I just hope that I will measure up to her example as I serve in various callings in the church. I am so blessed and know that I cannot repay my Father in Heaven for all that I am blessed with. I just hope and pray that I will be able to give back a little through service in His kingdom.
