Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Sarah, and I'm a 22 year old Sophomore at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I'm currently studying business, but my goal is to study functional medicine. I love being outside, I love living in Utah, I love going to school and learning new things every day, and I love meeting new people. I have 3 sisters, a brother in law, and a perfect little niece and nephew.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised by my parents into this church, but I am a Mormon now because I have gone through a really long trial of chronic illness/autoimmune disease and daily unexplained health issues for the past few years and it was only through studying and trying to live the gospel of Jesus Christ every day that I found peace and happiness again. For a while, I had serious doubts if God was even real or if I believed any of it... I was suffering, scared, alone, and depressed and desperately wanted to find peace, guidance, and answers. I decided to just try submitting to God's will (trying to do what he would want me to rather than what I wanted to do right then), having faith, studying my scriptures every single day, and praying often and sincerely to find peace and answers. And eventually I FOUND IT! Living this gospel takes work, commitment, and sacrifices but it is so worth it. It gives me so much peace, understanding, and comfort during the hardest times as well as the best times in life. I'm still sick and dealing with the same health issues, but I feel so at peace and different now because of my new perspective that I've gotten from living more like Jesus and submitting to God's will. My anger and sadness has been replaced with gratitude, and marveling at how amazing God is, and how incredible this life is. That's what I believe this gospel/this church can do for everyone... it changes your heart and your perspective and helps you grow from the hardest times in life that we all have to experience as human beings. I love being apart of this organization and community that teaches us to focus more on others and less on ourselves and helps us grow so much and try to reach our divine potential.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meetings once a week, observing the sabbath day, worshipping God and living in gratitude and awe of Him daily, and trying to live each day like my savior Jesus Christ would. I try to focus more on others than myself and learn and grow from my mistakes and trials. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible and Book of Mormon.
