Hi I'm Allen

I spend time with my amazing family, scuba diving, riding motorcycles worshiping Jesus Christ and enjoying life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I love to engage in adventurous activities. She and I ride our own sport touring motorcycles and love to go scuba diving with our 3 kids when possible. I have a private pilots license and love to fly. About 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and because of medications that I have to take, am not able to renew my medical certificate to keep my license current. I miss flying, but still love to do adventurous things. Our family is currently occupied with taking care of my Mother in Law who needs some personal care at 80+ years of age. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life and just as everyone needs to be converted to the fullness of the Gospel, I am no exception. I remember a number of powerful experiences in my youth that led me to have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the power of prayer and a knowledge that God does speak to chosen Prophets and Apostles today as he did in ancient times. I testify to any who view this writing that the Church of Jesus Christ is directed by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and is the only church on the face of the earth that contains the complete and full Gospel of Jesus Christ in this day. I would be happy to share my experiences with any who would like to hear more about the church and its teachings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that by following the teachings of the Gospel and the instruction of Heaven inspired leaders of the Church, my family and I have the right perspective of the challenges that all of us face in life and I can see how meeting and overcoming these challenges with the help of my Heavenly Father will prepare me and my family for greater blessings even after this life is over.

How I live my faith

I participate in my Ward by paying an honest tithing and a generous fast offering to help build my Heavenly Fathers church on the earth and to assist the poor and needy in my Ward and in my community. I am also a Temple ordinance worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I love this weekly opportunity and gain a lot of spiritual strength by serving in this calling. I am always happy to give talks when asked to do so and love to attend other ward and branch meetings if I happen to be traveling on a Sunday. It is always comforting to know that the Church is the same no matter where I happen to be in the world. I can still feel the Spirit of my Savior in any LDS church building any where in the world.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Knowing if Mormonism is true is unique for everyone, including members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The process we all have to follow to come to this knowledge is the same, but the answer to the question may be different for each of us. Each of us needs to begin with a sincere desire to know if the things that Joseph Smith did was directed by God. The only real source of truth is the Holy Ghost who testifies of truth. In order to feel his influence, we need to kneel in sincere prayer and ask God in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ if Joseph Smith was his chosen prophet. The physical evidence of Joseph's divine calling is the Book of Mormon, and other works that testify of Christ and serve as another witness of the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If we will take the time to read these works and pray to know if they are of divine origin, the Holy Ghost will testify to our hearts and minds in a powerful and unmistakeable way that they are given to men from a loving God to bring peace and happiness to our lives and the lives of our families forever. The answer for me when I was 15 years old. It came as a powerful and overwhelming impression that brought me to tears, and I knew that God was answering my sincere prayer to know if the fullness of his Gospel was, in fact, restored to the earth through a chosen prophet. You can know, as I came to know, that the Gospel has been restored again to the earth. Have Faith, Pray, and Listen for an Answer. Show more Show less
