Hi I'm Colin Barber

Im a rock climbing, motorcycle riding financial advisor who's worked with service organizations across 3 continents. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While its true I love to be outdoors and have been in more countries than most people, the biggest priorities in my life are my wife Melanie and my religion. Melanie and I met in college just after my 2 year mission to Georgia, and just before hers in Japan. We settled here in Snoqualmie because we love the area, it works great with my job, and Melanie grew up in nearby Maple Valley so we have her family close.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has taught me that obstacles are learning opportunities. I live with confidence that even though I dont know what tomorrow will bring, my Heavanly Father does, and that by following his plan I can trust and not be afraid. I am a mormon because I have studied the scriptures, I have prayed, and I have learned for myself that God does know me, that he stands beside me, and that his church has been restored again in these latter days and that we have a living prophet on the earth. I know that revelation is real, and know that when I am worthy my Heavenly Father sometimes depends on me to answer the prayers of others. I am grateful for the unity the gospel brings and the chance I have every week to gather with other saints here in the Snoqualmie Valley as the scriptures teach us to.

How I live my faith

I put my faith and my family above everything else that I do.  I live my faith by recognizing the gift that our heavenly fathers plan is in my life, and by living in gratitude for it. I try my best to keep my heart set on righteousness and to be an example of what my heavenly father would have us do. Living my faith has motivated me to serve throughout the world as I got to teach children in Asia, teach self reliance seminars for the church throughout southern Mexico, and with medical clinics in Zambia, Africa.
