Hi I'm Leroy Gary Lindberg

I grew up in Southern California. I attended schools in Los Angeles and became a High School Teacher and Coach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a Luthern / Catholic home. I had awesome parents and grandparents and a loving sister and brother. My beautiful wife and I have been married for 48 years. We have 3 children and 17 grandchildren. We both retired after working together in education for more than 30 years. Begining as a print shop teacher and soccer coach and finally ending my high school experience teaching all phases of graphic arts and digital technologies and coaching football and track. It is great to spend time with my wife and family. Today I still root for the U C L A Bruins and coach many grandchildren in sports and many other family activities. We enjoy camping, bike riding and all outdoor activities. We love spending time together at the Holy Temples of the Lord. Both of our sons and two grandsons have and are serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My wife and I humbly hope to serve the Lord on a mission soon. We will do all we can to share our blessings and testimony of the gospel with all the world. We have served together in many of temples and know the blessings that service brings to us and all our family. We know and love our beloved Savior Jesus Christ. We give thanks daily for the restoration of the gospel and the Prophet Joseph.

Why I am a Mormon

In my youth I desired to become a minister in another religion. One day while playing basketball at a local high school the players on the other team and I started to discuse our beliefs of the Savior and the chuches we attended. Soon after I was introduced to the missionaries. It took a while, but after feeling the spirit and knowing in my heart and mind that the lessons taught to me by the missionaries were ture and correct I made the decision to be baptised. It was difficult for my family to accept the change and to this day they still attend other churches. However, I know how awesome it is to feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost and to have His constant companionship. I will never be able to thank those who brought the gospel into my life. The very night before I was baptised I received a witness that the gospel was true, the Book of Mormon was the word of prophets from the past and I was doing the right thing. I have been blessed with a great wife and family and receive blessings daily. Life isn't easy there are many tests and challanges but trying to live close to the spirit allows me to receive inspiration and direction. Over the past forty nine years I've seen many changes in the world. Changes for the good and bad, sorrows and happy times have come and gone, through it all the gospel has made us stronger. We never know what lies ahead but we do know if we stay focused on the gospel and trying to live like our Savior we will be OK. If we live what we belive we will make it through together. Our family will be together forever.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to teach the youth of the community and the church. In the community I've taught technology courses and coached many different sports. In the church I've served in many callings, home teacher, Youngmen's President, Bishoprics, High Priest Group Leader and many others. I also served in the Holy Temples of the Lord and completed many different assignments there. In sports it's teaching to do the little things right and to try to do the right thing daily. It's helping others learn the importance of team work and working towards a goal. Sometimes the goal may be team focused and at other times it may be an individual goal. The secret is to all work together to help each other achieve their goals. The teachings of the gospel are closely related to those of the classroom or team. The great thing about the church is that we have a plan to follow. It's called the plan of happiness. We also have great tools to help us along our journey. The prophet, the preisthood, the scriptures, the teachings of the Savior. In addition we have our churches and temples, our church leaders and teachers. All are teaching us to do the little things right and to do the right things daily. Serving others just as the Savior's example is part of working together to help all people feel the love of the Savior. Service is and always will be our opportunity to do the right thing. I try daily to live as Jesus would, to do as He would do and serve as He served yesterday, today and always. Im far from being perfect but I try daily.
