Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of four wonderful children and married to an incredible woman who loves being a mother. I love watching my kids participate in activities and sports, participating with them, running long distance, and coaching cross country at our middle school. I also love backpacking, fly fishing and being in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have read The Book of Mormon many, many times and felt the truthfulness of it in my heart as I read it and prayed about it. I first read it in full in the 9th grade. At that time I wanted to know if it really was true and promised to read it, then pray to ask if it was true. I found that I didn't need to wait to the end of reading it because my prayers were answered as I read it. I have felt the Spirit testify to me that it was true, and I have felt that countless times since. I love the testimony it provides that Jesus is the Christ - the Savior of the world. It supports and gives an additional testimony to the Bible that Christ is the Redee,er. I love being Mormon. It has brought me great growth and joy.

How I live my faith

I try to live the gospel by being active in the Church and the community. Fortunately, I have had many callings in the Church of richness that have been fulfilling and challenging. I currently have the opportunity to teach early morning seminary to the youth - ages 16 - 18. It takes tremendous preparation and sacrifice, but it's worth every minute of effort. I love the youth - they are incredible. What other group of youth would get up at 5:00am to attend a religious class at 6:00am? They amaze me. In addition, I strive to serve the community by coaching cross country at our middle school. Again, it's a blessing to work with the youth. They are good and outstanding. I admire when they put in great effort even if many will never win a race. Their victory is in meeting the challenge of finishing the race, or improving their times. I admire them and cherish the opportunity to serve them.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testimony that Jesus is the Christ. It was written by ancient prophets who lived in the Americas between approximately 2,200BC to 400AD. The records were recorded on metal plates to preserve the prophecies and writings. The Prophet Joseph Smith was guided to the plates by an angel and translated them by the power of God. The Book of Mormon bears powerful testimony of the Savior, His atonement, and his visit to the Americas after the resurrection. It fulfills the prophecy that "out of the mouth of two or three witnesses his word shall be established." Show more Show less
