Hi I'm Austin

I'm a husband, father, a PA in a busy ER, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town, so all my hobbies reflect my rural upbringing. I love to do anything outside, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, snowboarding, or just getting out into the hills for little bit. I have a beautiful wife who grew up on a large farm not far from where I grew up, and we have two beautiful children under the age of 2. Growing up I spent a lot of time working with my Dad and others, building homes and placing concrete foundations for homes or large commercial buildings. Now I work in healthcare and am a PA in a busy ER in a larger city.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My father's family has been members of the Church since it's early restoration in the 1800's. My mother is a convert and was baptized into the Church as a young teenager in Southern California. I developed a knowledge and testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and of his modern day prophets and apostles from a young age in Sunday School and in the Primary songs that we were taught. My favorite Primary Song was Families can be Together Forever, because even as a young child, this was a Doctrine that rang true and that I knew must play a central role in my life. Now as a husband and Father, this Doctrine is ever so much more important and I am grateful for it's truth. As I grew older, the time came to serve a mission. There had never been any doubt in my mind that I wanted to go and serve a mission, but even still, leaving home, friends, family and everything familiar was a daunting task. It was the first time that I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Between a full time job and my first year of college, it took me a month to read, but it was the first time in my life that I actually knew the Savior, on a personal level. From that book of scripture I came to know Him in such a manner that I knew I would recognize Him when I see Him again. It was a message I knew was true, and a message I knew I must share. So I did, and I loved it. It was one of the most difficult times of my life, but it was joyful and I loved it. The more I have been able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the more I have come to know of its truth, the truth of the Bible, the truth of the Book of Mormon, and the truth spoken by living prophets on earth today.

How I live my faith

My family and I have been extremely blessed by continued service in the Church, both as recipients of service and as we have been asked to serve. I have been given Priesthood Authority that I have used to bless my children as they were born, to dedicate homes that we have lived in, and to bless my wife or other loved ones as they were ill or in need of comfort and support. We have been called to teach 3-5 year old children in Sunday school and to home teach or visit teach our friends and their families. We have just very recently moved to a new area and it was wonderful to be welcomed right into a new Ward family, and to be taught the same lessons in Sunday School that we had been taught the week before we moved. It is a familiar place inside our new unfamiliar home and we look forward to receiving a calling to serve here, whatever that calling may be.
