Hi I'm Ryan

I am an exercise enthusiast. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student in Idaho. I married my beautiful wife, Jordan, in July 2012 in the Bountiful Temple. I love playing sports of all kinds, but basketball is my favorite. I have ran 4 half marathons and am training for a triathlon. I am currently an exercise physiology major with a chemistry minor preparing for optometry school. I enjoy music, I play the guitar and sing. I also enjoy cooking and eating healthy foods.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the LDS faith because it gives me hope. The Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ can enable us to overcome whatever hardships or trials we face. I love the teachings of the Gospel that help motivate me to live my life in a way that I know is pleasing to my Father in Heaven. It's not easy to make right choices 100% of the time, in fact it's impossible, but having faith in a life greater than this one makes it easier to recognize wrong choices I've made and improve upon my weaknesses. I know of the power contained within the Book of Mormon. Through diligent study it has changed my life and I know that it can change anyone's if they allow it. It is an inspired book from God and I know that it is true. The most important reason I continue to live this faith is because of the joy and peace that it can bring to families. Families are meant to last for time and all eternity, and it is only through the restored Gospel that that is possible. Every element of the Gospel is given to us to progress as families, because they are essential to our purpose here on earth.

How I live my faith

I served a mission in Hawaii and loved serving the people there! My knowledge of my Savior Jesus Christ grew tremendously and I will always remember and strive to live worthy of the people I grew to love there. I live my faith by striving to always stay positive no matter what is going on around me. I feel that it is important to always stay positive and avoid negative thinking because the Spirit of God can't be with me when I complain or think negatively of myself or others. It is impossible to represent the Savior or a disciple of Him without the Spirit. It is also a lot easier to recognize opportunities to serve others when I'm not worried so much about the trivial matters in my own life.
