Hi I'm James Robertson

I grew up in Iowa. Served a full time mission in England. I have been sealed in the Temple, and have two children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a family that I love very much. My wife and I have been married for 4 going on 5 years, and we have two girls, 3 and 1. I served a mission for two years in England, the London South Mission where I strengthened church members and taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The experiences that I had there strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ and continue to help me on my path striving to stay on the "Straight and Narrow Path." I am currently going to school and working. I enjoy learning and am studying to be a civil engineer. I hope to continue education even after my I finish my bachelor's degree. I value education both temporal and spiritual. I enjoy watching sports. I was an athlete through high school, and still enjoy to play when I can, opportunities don't come as often though because I value my time with my family more, and there is little to spare at this point in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of the testimony that I have received of divinity of the Savior, Jesus Christ, my testimony of The Book of Mormon, the restoration of the Gospel in the latter days through the prophet Joseph Smith, and the witnesses that I have received through the Holy Spirit of the many principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through my youth I relied on the strength of my parents and other church leaders at church. As I approached the time in my life that most young men prepare to leave for a mission (19), I had questions whether I should go on a mission or not. I had previously made no commitment as to whether I would stay or go. I decided within my self that if this were something the Lord wanted me to do He would give me an answer to the question. I determined to read The Book of Mormon, as it was the first time I would read it through in my life. As I read the the Book through I found myself living it's pages, feeling the emotions of many of those missionaries and prophets contained within it. As I read the chapters in 3 Nephi, where the Lord appears and teaches the people after His resurrection, I witnessed for my self through the Holy Ghost that these pages were true. I realized then that I must serve the Lord through missionary service, because He had given me an answer. As I developed as a missionary in the field I gained many other witnesses from the Holy Ghost of Gospel truths including: The First Vision, The Word of Wisdom, The Law of Chastity, and other principles. Although I gained these testimonies of the Gospel then, I continue to grow in knowledge and testimony of the Gospel and Jesus Christ. Today I can see the benefits and blessings that surround mine and my families lives' because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I continually strive to bring myself closer to the Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving, being a priesthood holder of the church I strive to be diligent in my responsibilities at church which include working with the youth, and as an assistant scoutmaster in The Boy Scouts of America. I enjoy seeing the lives of the young men change and develop as they grow in spirit and body. And I am grateful to the Lord for the chance that I have to be a part of that growth in their lives. I also strive to be a good husband and father to my family. In my family I work to bear my priesthood in a way that strengthens them, and helps us move towards our eternal home together. I know my children are very young and there are many challenges ahead, but I believe through the help of the Lord we can overcome obstacles that may come in our way.
