Hi I'm Clint Mortensen

I am an AZ native, and currently work in the financial services industry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the best woman in the world, and together we have two wonderful adopted children. When I am not working I enjoy running, swimming, boating, camping and anything else that can be done outside with the family. My preference is to be outdoors, but when that is not possible, and I am forced to be home, I enjoy learning about the latest electronic gadgets and smoking meat on my smoker.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a deep belief in Jesus Christ. I believe that his sacrifice for me will allow me to return to my Heavenly home. I know that I am a child of God, and that my Heavenly Father loves me. I believe that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the same church that existed when Christ walked the earth. As part of that restoration, Joseph translated another witness of Christ, The Book of Mormon. I strive to read the Book of Mormon daily, and I find it to be a blessing in my life. I know that the teachings in the Book of Mormon are true, and that I feel closer to my Heavenly Father when I apply into my life the things that I read. Since the time of Joseph there has been an unbroken succession of modern prophets. As a Mormon I am blessed to receive direction from a living prophet. This prophet provides guidance and direction to me today in the same way that Biblical prophets provided direction in ancient times. Separate from my beliefs and convictions, I am a Mormon because I believe it affords a lifestyle that brings happiness. For example, one of the the teachings of the Mormon church is the "Word of Wisdom". This teaching instructs church members to abstain from tobacco, alcohol and other harmful drugs. I have lived this teaching perfectly and as a result I have never suffered from the afflictions that visit those who do partake in the consumption of these substances. My body has been blessed with strength, and I have never had to devote a thought to consider if I am too impaired to drive. Adherence to the "Word of Wisdom" is just one example of a Mormon teaching that has blessed my life. There many other examples that are too numerous for me to write about, but I can testify that all the teachings, if lived with exactness, have been a blessing to me and my family. I love that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite New Testament stories is when Christ insists on serving his Disciples by washing their feet. I believe that Christ set an example by serving others. As such, membership in the Mormon church requires service. While this service can be physically exhausting at times, it is always spiritually reinvigorating. As an adult member of the church I have had many callings that have blessed my life as I served. Some of my callings have included working with the youth, and serving in leadership presidencies of organizations that serve families. Presently I am the "Ward Clerk" which has administrative responsibilities for my congregation (i.e. Ward). The calling of Ward Clerk allows me to serve closely with my Bishop and his Counselors.
