Hi I'm Geoff

I grew up in in Oregon. I joined the LDS church when I was 17. I am a JD/MBA student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a JD/MBA student. I have worked in IT and enjoy all things technology related. I have been married for nearly 11 years and have 3 kids. I love to read novels in my spare time, which is not often.

Why I am a Mormon

I investigated many churches when I reached an age where I was overtly critical of religion. I felt that there was a significant disjoint between what churches where preaching and what their practices were, especially toward those not of their faith. Of the several religions whose representatives knocked on my door, the LDS religion was the only one in the initial conversation that encouraged acceptance of all people. The clearly made a distinction between love for the individual and sadness of the sin. The atmosphere of love filled me with the Spirit. The Spirit guided me through the questions that I had and the corrections in my lifestyle to bring my actions within the bounds the Lord has set. The Spirit testified to me, directly and powerfully, that we need a prophet today. Further, that Joseph Smith was called by God to restore his gospel of peace to the world and that he was an instrument in God's hands to provide us with the Book of Mormon. I am a critical person, but the Spirit has spoken to my heart that the LDS church is the church led directly by Jesus Christ, through a prophet.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a message of peace, of perfection, and of love. In my interaction with my family and others, I strive to look at the beloved child of God and separate the person from the sin. I try to be understanding of the complex issues that each person faces when making decisions. We all fall short of the mark, but we can help each other progress.
