Hi I'm Kim

I'm a Mormon. I have taught music in Washington state for the last 12 years. I am working on a degree in middle school math.

About Me

I am a grandmother of 9, mother of 6, a daughter, and a wife. I love to make music. I play the piano and have taught music and piano for many years. I also love math. For the last 3 years I have been taking online college classes to get a math teaching degree. I figure you’re never too old to learn!!

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I have felt that the church was true, but as a teenager I decided that I really wanted to have a confirmation. I had read the Book of Mormon and decided that I wanted to receive a real confirmation that it was true. I started praying about it regularly and at first nothing happened. It was after a few months of prayer that I was sitting in church and someone said something about the Book of Mormon. I got a very strong warm feeling that both the Book of Mormon and what they were saying were true. It was a wonderful experience that has been repeated several times as I’ve prayed about other aspects of the gospel. I know it is true and I’m so thankful for it. 2 years ago our house burned to the ground. That sounds really awful and some aspects of it were hard, but Heavenly Father blessed me with peace even while it was burning. I felt that everything would be okay and it has been. I know he loves me.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different positions in the church: anything from teacher to president of the women’s and children’s organizations at different times along with the young women’s. Right now I am the organist which I enjoy very much. I find that I am happiest when I am serving in the church and my fellowman.
