Hi I'm Mike

I'm a husband. I'm a dad. I'm an electrical engineer. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I'm primarily a husband and father of Three boys and a girl, aged 10, 6, 3, and less than 1. I love gathering around our big beanbag chair to read and listen to stories read by my wife and older sons. I enjoy playing with the kids. We often construct and play with models using bricks from our Lego stockpile. We have also made several short Lego stop motion videos, one of which was almost exclusively made by my older son, including a sound track, which he showed to his teacher and class. I enjoy listening to classical and other uplifting music, including any I can sing along with and feel better doing so.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Latter-day Saint family, but I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints because of what it helps me to become. Every teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me to become better. I'm a "Mormon" because I know my Savior loves me. He loves me with all my limitations and helps me to overcome them. I love knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me enough to provide a way to for me to join with my wonderful wife to form a family that will last forever, beyond death and all barriers. He joins with us in leading our family, showing us how to follow his Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Jesus Christ by speaking well of others and working hard to be a good husband, father, brother, son, friend, and coworker. I, like almost all men in the church am what is called a Home Teacher. I visit some families in our ward (congregation) each month to share a gospel message and make sure they are well. I am currently serving as a clerk in my ward, which means I help to track church attendance and expenses.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Mike
Go to the primary sources. Particularly, read the The Book of Mormon and pray to ask our Heavenly Father whether it is true. Do what you think he would want you to do if the church was true and he wanted you to find out about it. I would suggest attending church meetings, especially sacrament meeting. If you have specific questions, ask an LDS friend or missionary for the church. Show more Show less
