Hi I'm Mark

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five children, three girls and two boys, and a grandfather with 14, soon to be 15, grandchildren. After 30 plus years working in a career that I very much enjoyed, I now am self employed and love more time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, sports, music, etc, with family and friends. I have come to appreciate more keenly those things which matter most in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

As I was growing up in my parents home there was always emphasis on coming unto Christ and coming to know God our Father. I was taught at a young age to pray dailly. I was provided with reading material which along with teachers at church encouraged me to seek truth through scripture study and personal prayer. little by little I came to have a deep desire to know if the bible was true and if the Book of Mormon was true. I read the story of Joseph Smith and prayed to know if this was true. over time I came to know deep within that these things are true. The Book of Mormon was key to my coming close to God and to my Savior Jesus Christ and coming to know with a surety that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Savior's church restored to the earth again in these last days. The Spirit of the Holy Ghost is real and has touched my mind and heart in a way that can not be denied such that I can truly say I know Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Scoutmaster and along with the assistant scoutmasters, work to help twelve and thirteen year old scouts organize their troop and carry out the objectives of scouting. Through teaching and example we help them live by the scout oath and law and slogan and motto. I am assigned to be a home teacher which means I go regularly with another Priesthood holder into three homes each month and check to make sure the family is ok. We teach and encourage and give service where needed. I have appreciated the opportunity in our community to work with others who live here to plan and carry out cultural events and participate together in service.
