Hi I'm Gena

I'm a full time Mommy, I am an artist, singer/songwriter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a loving husband and a darling 3 year old daughter, ( + a baby on the way.) They bring joy to my life everyday. I have been involved with art ever since I could hold a pencil. I have painted professionally as well as for my own interests. I love to sing and play the piano. When a song comes together for the first time, it is very fulfilling. I love interior design. I also like to spend time outside and bask in the beauty of God's creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to grow up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I always believed the teachings were true. I felt peace and comfort through testimonies of family members and others around me. It was through applying principals of the gospel to my life that I gained a sure knowledge & testimony of my own. Witnessing the blessings that come from living the Gospel has given me a testimony of our Father in Heaven. I know that he is there watching over us. He knows each and every one of us and loves us. I know that his son Jesus Christ came to this earth to do his will and atoned for our sins so that we may return to live in their presence. I know that Heavenly Father created the perfect plan, (also called "The Plan of Happiness") and through his plan it is possible for everyone to have the peace he offers. The Savior invites us to follow in his footsteps, it has been my experience that every time I do, I feel the peace he freely gives. I feel his love, and I am reassured that following Christ's example is the correct path. My heart is full of gratitude and joy, I receive so many blessings by choosing to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I desire for everyone to feel this peace and happiness that comes from living this Gospel. This is my testimony, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for opportunities to do good. To help someone in need, and by serving those around me. This can be as simple as a smile. There are so many things we can do to serve. I try to be a good example for my daughter, so that she may also learn to emulate the Savior. Family is the central unit in God's plan. Our family strives to treat each other with kindness and show love to one another. I have the opportunity to teach a class called the Sunbeams in Primary. It is a privilege to share lessons with them as well as my testimony. They are so young, yet learning important principals that will help guide and direct them through their whole life. Another way I live my faith is by using the talents Heavenly Father gave me to build his kingdom. I want to share this beautiful Gospel message. I have seen it change lives. My paintings and songs are positive and uplifting. It is my hope that through the art and music I create, others will be inspired and have the desire to move closer to the Savior Jesus Christ.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

We have an organization called the Humanitarian Aid. This is funded by Church Members all around the globe that donate money toward needed relief. So when disaster hits we are ready to provide water, food, medical supplies etc. Church members can also volunteer to travel and help with clean up, distribution, and comfort. Show more Show less
