Hi I'm Evan

I'm a piano player. I love 80's rock. I write and read fantasy. I'm a mathematician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Evan. I do my fair share of bike riding and going on walks. I love reading books like The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, etc. I like to build stuff (it's is a result of playing with to many Legos as a kid) I write stories when get a good idea and the same goes for my drawings. I've fallen in love with the medieval scene, knights in shining armor, dragons and maidens, its all so intriguing to me. I'm a college student and I've finished my general two year Associate of Arts degree. I get so excited about learning sometimes; it really is a gift from god! I love my parents, and I'm going to make them proud one day and do something spectacular with my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I could take the easy road and say, "Because my parents are," but that is not the case! The spring of 2011 was a hard time in my life, I made some mistakes. After the fact I came to a realization that I wanted to figure out what I believed, if I believed there were no god then those mistakes mattered not, but if I did find there to be a god, which was the true one? For that brief period I referred to myself as an atheist, not believing anything until I knew it to be true. I went on a quest of sorts. I found out for myself that the Bible was true, but which church was I to join? there is so much uncertainty in Christianity, and even in my teenage years I couldn't figure it out. it finally came time to test the LDS faith. I began to read the Book of Mormon slowly but surely I came to a realization that I was to be a Mormon for the rest of my days, and that is how it will stay.

How I live my faith

As a child growing up in the church, it was a norm for me to be helping out some family, or even just cleaning the church building every Saturday, at the time, helping others was not on the top of my priorities list, but now I am glad that I did. I try to always be willing to help others when their need may come, just as I hope others would do for me if I were in need. I love hometeaching. I am so blessed in this program, it is such a wonderful experience to teach, talk with and be taught through. It gives me the opportunity to help others as well as become friends with people I wouldn't have normally befriended. I've met so many wonderful men and women through this program. Now I spend every waking second of every day serving the lord as a full time missionary. I get to find, teach and help increase the faith in others that Jesus truly is the Christ. This is such a wonderful opportunity to try and gain charity like that of Christs.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Evan
Joseph Smith Jr. was an average boy who was confused about all of the disagreements in the Christian churches, and as a boy called on god to help him discover the truth. God the Father, and his son Jesus the Christ appeared unto him! they told him to join none, and eventually he was called of god to restore his true church in its fullness to the Earth, and to be a prophet like them of old, Moses, Abraham, etc. He was the first and not the last latter day prophet!
