Hi I'm Gary

I am an Arizona native. I am a Brigham Young University Alumni. I am a Certified Public Accountant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of five daughters. I am an Arizona native, born and raised in the Mesa/Chandler area. I am a certified public accountant and graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 2004 with a Master of Accountancy degree. While up at BYU I met the most wonderful person I have ever known, my wife (and no, she did not tell me to say that). We have been married for over ten years and since graduating from college, we have enjoyed living in Gilbert, Arizona. I currently work as the Assistant Controller of a large public company based in Tempe, Arizona. I love sports, both playing and watching them. I love the outdoors; in particular, I love to hike. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I am a Mormon is because I have felt the love of my Savior in my heart. I have felt the warm love of the Holy Spirit in my heart, which has testified to me that Jesus is the Christ, who loves me and died for me and everyone who ever lived on this earth. I have prayed to know that the Book of Mormon and its teachings are true and have received an answer to my prayer that they are true. Since I have done that, I have been able to make proper choices in my life that have helped me learn, grow, mature, and develop into who I am today. I invite anyone who would like to know what Mormons believe and if what they teach is true to come and see for yourself. It will be a tremendous blessing in your life if you do.

How I live my faith

I love the saying that integrity is doing what is right when no one else is watching. I think the best way to show those around me what my faith means to me is to always live as an example. I have five daughters who always seem to be watching what I do and often copying what they see me do. I know of no other way to help them to make right choices in their lives than to live my life in such a way that they can follow in my footsteps. I want my daughters to see that I love my wife by the way that they see me treat and respect my wife. I want my daughters to learn the value and benefit of hard work by working beside me as we go about chores at home. I want the words “I love you,” to mean more to my daughters than a simple three words. I want my daughters to understand that sacrifice and hard work is what adds emotion and meaning to “I love you.”

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Gary
I am an Eagle Scout, for me it is easy to say that the purpose of life can be found in the Scout Motto, “Be Prepared.” This life is a preparatory life to help each of us learn and prepare to live as a happy family with our Father in Heaven & our Savior. As we do this and follow His commandments we become more like our Father in Heaven and take steps closer to Him. Show more Show less
