Hi I'm Shara

I've always lived near mountains. In ID and WY. I love finding creative solutions in art and life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom. Our numbers have steadily grown since the beginning of our family. It is a wonderful pattern that I look forward to continuing into our posterity when our child bearing years come to a close. I'm married to my wonderful husband! We met swing dancing at college. We still love to dance whenever we can, especially together. I have a BFA of Illustration and I illustrate or create images as often as I can. I also dearly love playing the cello. I love to read, watch movies, and listen to my favorite music. I also have a lot of fun playing games. console games, a few computer games I play with my husband, and especially board and card games that have lots of strategy. I graduated with a bachelors in illustration and can't help but be creative in my life through art and through finding creative solutions to problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church with my family. It has always been a central part of my life. Now I teach our kids what I know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church. There is nothing that has made a greater positive impact on my life. I'm a better, happier, more at peace person because of my membership and activity in the Church. I have many weaknesses, but my faith helps me through my hardest of times and helps me keep moving forward.

How I live my faith

Serving in my callings in the wards I have lived in has not always been easy, but has always been a blessing to me. When I was a youth, I was called to lead my peers and learned a lot. I love serving in ward choirs and even was a ward choir conductor once. After turning 18 I've always had a calling to visit and serve other women in my ward. I've served as a Sunday School teacher in college and later for children. I've served in the presidency of the children's organization for our ward. But my official callings are far from the only ways I try to live my faith. I strive to begin my day with personal prayer and scripture study to seek answers to my personal questions and struggles and to seek spiritual strength from God to help me be better than I am on my own. Raising young children takes a lot of time and effort physically, mentally, and emotionally. It can be very difficult at times, but I would not take my life without them. The love and lessons they bring me are irreplaceable. Serving and loving my dear husband is of my greatest joys and pleasures, though not always easy or simple. So worth every effort I can give. My husband and I try to serve in the Temple at least once a month. It's a three hour trip to get to our nearest Temple, but it is so spiritually rejuvenating and strengthening. Attending out weekly Sunday meetings is also very important to me. We'll even take turns staying home with sick kids so we can both go to some of our meetings.
