We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Ethan

I am serving my Mission in Texas, I say Y'all a lot, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving my Full Time Mission in Texas. I was born and raised in Idaho. I really enjoy reading the scriptures and learning all I can about Christ, and how much he has done for all of us. I really enjoy the outdoors and love to do all of the camping and stuff that goes with it. I really enjoy Texas and how great the people are here. My Mission means everything to me and I really love helping others come closer to Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the death of my best friend in September of 2009. He was in a car accident while going to school. I was very upset and discouraged for a year or so. I really needed to decide weather or not I was going to let that tragedy affect my life in a negative way. I came to the conclusion to go on a Mission which took some time but I finally got called to serve in Texas. I read The Book of Mormon for the first time while in the Missionary Training Center. There was more than a notable difference that came over me; I was more charitable, virtuous, and obedient to the standards that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches us to live by. The Book of Mormon is convincing evidence that there is a Heavenly Father and that he loved eveyone so much that he gave his Son as a sacrifice to allow them to repent of their sins. Through that mercy we are allowed to return to live with our Father in Heaven as long as we accept the Atonement as the only way by which we can repent and be cleansed from our sins. I walk in Faith as I try and humble myself before Christ and show him my weakness. He makes "weak things become strong" unto me (Ether 12:27) and he is my constant reminder that I am not alone in the world.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by serving others with all of my heart. I have seen the goodness and mercy of the Atonement and I wish that others would too. I would like to personally invite the spirit into other people’s lives and give all of them a chance to accept the Doctrine of Christ and follow his example. I love The Lord with all of my heart and I invite everyone to give him everything they have. I love to teach others about the Gospel and want all people to come unto Christ. This is why I came on a Mission and this is how I live my Faith.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Ethan
We know that Baptism is absolutley necessary to enter into the Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ Himself taught that same principle to Nicodemus when he said "Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:5) The pinciple was taught by Jesus Christ and He Himself set the example by being baptized by John the Baptist. Baptism is done by complete immersion in water and it is symbolic of your sinful life coming to an end and the rebirth of you spiritual life. We covenant with God that we take upon ourselves the name of Christ, and He promises us His spirit. So our view is simple we believe Baptism is absolutley necessary and there is no other way in which we can follow The Savior's example more perfectly than Baptism. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Ethan
Mormons don't believe that when someone dies we never get to see them again. Instead we believe that their spirit leaves their physical body and they go on to a place where we continue to learn and grow. We also believe that your body and your spirit will reunite again, this is called the resurrection, and your body will be perfect never again will you experience physical death. This is a true message of happiness that I have come to found is true, not only does it feel good inside but their is evidence in The Bible and in The Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Ethan
Members of The Church who have been baptized are able to enter The Temple. The Temple is a great place to learn more about your relationship with God and how important His Son is to your life. I really love how much you learn and the peace you feel while in God's Holy House. At church you learn about families and how imortant families are, and at The Temple you are sealed to that family so that you can be together forever. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Ethan
When I think of Jesus Christ I think of how much He loved everyone. If we claim to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, then we should follow Christ's example and help everyone, not only a few people. Christ would help anyone who wanted His help so we must follow His example and help all those who need it the most. What I have come to find is that there isn't one person in the World as perfect as Christ so we all need help. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Ethan
A "testimony" is something given to you by the Spirit, it is your faith in Jesus Christ described in words. You build your testimony by reading from the scriptures and living your life as Jesus tought you to live it. Through trials your testimony can be strengthened so that you can show others that nothing is impossible to overcome, because of your belief in Christ. Show more Show less
