Hi I'm Julie

I'm a wife, mother, school volunteer, & piano teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother. I have 4 wonderful kids and although parenting is challenging, it is so rewarding. I feel strongly that you should give your time to things your kids are involved in, so right now I am committing a lot of my time to helping in school. I volunteer whenever I can - reading groups, helping PTSO in events, art lesson plans, & I've helped co-chair the art masterpiece program the last few years. Music is important to me & always has been. I am a piano teacher & love seeing the look of joy on a student's face when they've learned a new skill. I love animals - especially dogs & my kids have learned a lot from having pets. If I could go anywhere, it would be to the mountains - I love the trees & the quietness of nature. Exercise is a must in the morning - it sets the tone for how well I handle the rest of the day both mentally & physically.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family where I developed a pattern of going to church weekly, reading scriptures, and having both personal and family prayer. When I was 8, I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The patterns my parents exemplified made me happy and my faith in my Savior Jesus Christ grew through small everyday experiences. My husband and I have chosen to continue those patterns in our family's life because we feel the joy of living the gospel everyday in our lives. We both have strong testimonies - my testimony of the gospel shapes who I am as a person and affects all my choices. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. We lived with Him in the premortal life and we have each been sent down to earth at different times that were right for us to grow and be able to make choices. I know our Savior, Jesus Christ, was an integral part of that plan. He atoned for our sins and gave us the opportunity to use repentance in this life and be forgiven. I know that Jesus Christ lived on the earth & was resurrected - He lives today! We will all be resurrected also & have the opportunity to live together forever with our loved ones.

How I live my faith

I have a strong sense of serving others - it is something I want to do and feel it is important in my life and the life of others. I have had many opportunities to serve in my church. I have played the piano for the children's songs each Sunday and the hymns for the whole congregation to sing. I am currently accompanying our choir that presents special musical arrangements to the congregation. I have had the opportunity to study the scriptures & prepare lessons to teach our children and youth the gospel. I visit other women in my church where we share important Gospel messages to strengthen our faith and help with any needs. I have held several leadership positions among our children groups, teenagers, and women and have enjoyed working together with other men and women to make sure we are supporting the church programs. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a lifestyle. I don't take any substances that are harmful or addicting into my body. I exercise & try to get enough sleep to stay healthy. I try to only watch, read, and listen to things that are uplifting and stay away from things that are immoral or crude. I keep the Sabbath Day holy by doing things that bring me closer to Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ. I have a personal relationsip with my Heavenly Father through prayer and develop my faith through scripture study & weekly church attendance. Every choice I make has an eternal perspective to it - it's not for living in the moment. I have chosen this lifesyle and it has made me happy!
