Hi I'm Larry

I'm a husband, father of 6, grandfather of 2, retail finance guru, and musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado; have a BS in Music and a Masters in Business from BYU (yes, that is a strange combination); met my wife in the BYU Cougar marching band (she played flute, I played tuba); and have lived the majority of my life in California (San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego). I currently maintain a residence in San Diego although I work in Nebraska for Pamida as their Director of Finance and Reporting. . . go Big Red! In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, jogging around Omaha's Lake Zorinski, practicing the piano, visiting my six kids, and spoiling my two grandkids.

Why I am a Mormon

Mormonism is such a practical religion. I find that by following the principles, things just go better in my life. For example, we have a health code; we don't smoke, drink alcohol, do drugs, etc. By following that code, we can maintain healthy and balanced lifes. For me, I've found that the gospel is not insurance against pain or trouble, it is resource in times of pain or trouble. Weekdays, I try to have a personal devotional every morning where I read the scriptures, meditate, and pray; again, I find that having that devotional gives me strength and peace, it just makes my day go better. By doing this, I also feel that I can get answers to solve issues in my life. It just works!

How I live my faith

Because of my music background, I've had several "gigs" as my church choir director. Once a month, I take my guitar into the 2 year-old Sunday School class and sing Church songs with them . . . they are my biggest fans.
