Hi I'm Staci

I live in Mesa, Arizona. I'm a legal assistant. I love music, especially playing the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth of five children. I grew up in Farmington, New Mexico, but I moved out to Mesa, Arizona many years ago. I love the hot weather here! I work as a legal assistant in Phoenix, doing medical malpractice defense. Music is a passion of mine. I especially love pounding out a difficult song on the piano when I've had a hard day. It is definitely "therapy" for me. I absolutely love watching nature documentaries, especially about weather. I always say I want to be a meteorologist when I "grow up." My greatest love, though, is of Jesus Christ. The more I learn about my Savior and his great atoning sacrifice for me, the more I want to be like Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. However, I have gained a personal testimony of the church and of Jesus Christ. When I was a teenager, I decided it was about time I figured out for myself whether or not the church was true. For weeks, I prayed to know the answer. Was it all made up? Did Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ actually appear to a 14-year-old boy? Was His church once again restored to the earth? Was the Book of Mormon actually scripture from Heavenly Father? If Heavenly Father knows about a 14-year-old boy and appeared to him, does He know about me? I can say without a doubt that I received an answer to my prayers. I felt a peace and warmth in my heart that I could not deny. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church once again on the earth. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did appear to a 14-year-old boy in a grove and restored the gospel. The Book of Mormon is true and holy scripture that teaches me of Jesus Christ. And, without a doubt, I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and love me!

How I live my faith

One of the greatest things I have learned is about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have tried to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ at all times, but I have fallen short in the past, succumbing to sin. Yet I learned during that time that I could turn to my Heavenly Father, and that He wants me to turn to Him. I have discovered how much He loves me, even when I feel so unworthy of that love. He loves me so much He sent his Beloved Son to atone for those sins. I attend an Addiction Recovery Program group (based upon the 12-steps of recovery) where I serve as the facilitator. I love having the opportunity to share with others how the gospel of Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice are healing me, that I can have hope and that I can find peace and joy in this life by following the teachings of Jesus Christ and by doing God's will. I also have the opportunity to teach seven and eight year olds about Jesus Christ each week. What a treat it is to share with them how amazing the gospel is and how much their Heavenly Father loves them! Once I figured out my Heavenly Father loved me, even with all my problems, I found I now have a greater desire to be kinder to those around me, to find ways to serve my neighbors, friends and family more...to live more like Christ.
