Hi I'm Annette

I'm a wife and a mother to 3 wonderful children. For my other full-time job I'm a speech language pathologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother to 3 wonderful children. When my second child was just 6 months old I decided it was time to go back to school and finish my bachelor's degree. With the help of family, friends and lot of help from the Lord, I finally achieved a masters degree to become a speech language pathologist. I enjoy working with children with speech and language delays and disorders. This background has also been helpful as I have worked with one of my own children who has had developmental delays. I bring a unique view to my job, as I am a professional, but also a mother of a child with special needs. I feel so much joy when I can help children and their parents get the help they need to grow and become successful. Family is so important to me. When I'm not at work, I enjoy time with my family. Right now that includes carting my children to soccer, piano, and other various activities. I love to see the amazing young people that my children are becoming. When "life" doesn't have me running I enjoy reading, singing, watching T.V., baking and I'm even starting to get the crafting bug.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon. I have continued to follow the teachings of the gospel because of the peace and happiness it's teachings have brought into my life. I have come to know of a Heavenly Father who loves me and I have learned to love Him. He knows me and has a wonderful plan not only for me but for everyone. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints we refer to this as the Plan of Salvation or the Plan of Happiness. By believing in this principle I know that I was before this life, this life is a time of testing and trial and that death is not the end. I have faith in a Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is an intragal part of our Heavenly Father's plan to return to Him. Jesus Christ came to this earth to set an example for each of us for how we should live. Jesus Christ atoned for us, took upon him the sins, pain, sorrow, grief of EVERY person that has and will be born upon this earth. He is there to help us when we are heart-broken, at our wits end, or when we have made poor choices. I have learned and believe in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet through which Heavenly Father restored the fullness of the gospel which Jesus Christ set forth during His time on earth. I believe that the Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture, further testifying of Jesus Christ. I believe that we have a true and living prophet on the earth today to whom God reveals His wants and desires for His people. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is that prophet. I know that family is very much a part of our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness and that families can be together forever. I know that family brings us the greatest joys and sometimes the greatest heartaches we know in this life. I have felt my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for me as they have lifted, guided, comforted, eased my burdens. I have felt the power of the atonement in my hours of deepest sorrow. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace.

How I live my faith

To me, being a Mormon is not just a Sunday thing. I believe that being a Mormon encompasses how I act every minute of every day. It's in the choices I make when I watch T.V. , listen to music, how I dress or how I talk. I do attend worship services in our regular church building each Sunday. I also attend services in the temple. I strive each day to live a Christ-like life. I believe that being kind and non-judgmental are critical. I'm not perfect, but I try each day to treat others like they are children of God. I have been taught that Jesus Christ instructed us to serve our fellowmen. I try to serve people daily through even the smallest acts of kindness. I have been provided with many opportunities to serve in the church. I have worked with the children at church in many different capacities. I have taught music to the children. I have taught Sunday School lessons. I have instructed girls ages 8-10 in not only gospel teachings, but in skills to make them better young women. I have had the opportunity to oversee all of the programs that help the children 18 months old to 12 years old. Currently I am serving as choir director for our congregation. I enjoy the opportunity to help bring the spirit into our Sunday meetings through musical numbers. As a family we strive to have daily prayers and read from the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon). I am currently helping my daughter with her Personal Progress, which is a program for the young women (12-18 years old). In this program they learn to set goals and achieve them. They learn to read and study the scriptures. They learn many skills that will help them to be stronger, more confident women.
