Hi I'm Kelsey

I grew up in Spokane, Washington. I moved to San Antonio, Texas. I am a convert about to serve a mission! I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a convert. I was converted when I was 19. I now have the desire to serve a mission and will hopefully be leaving very soon. I am the only convert in my family of 6. I am a Sunbeam teacher. I absolutely love my calling. I never would have thought in a million years I would be a primary teacher. It's such a wonderful blessing. I got my endowments shortly after I turned 21. I love, love enjoying time with my good friends and family. Being in the company of people I love makes me happy and joyful of the blessings that I have been granted. I defintely feel in my heart that the decision to convert to LDS was THE best choice I have made this far in my young life. I have a Jehovah Witness backround, but I was never serious in that religion. I wasn't raised religious, but I was also blessed to have parents accept me as a very curious person growing up. They knew that I would sooner or later find a religion I would stick with. I've tried many different religions, but LDS is what my heart wanted. I absolutely love going to see new movies, live shows and bowling. I am an adventurous person and I always like to try everything at least once...well, not EVERYTHING :-) I adore books that I can get lost into. Not like Twilight, more towards stories that are true to facts, but have a fictional story to go with it. I especially love war stories. I am into a lot of music. I like to sing, of course I am no good at it and I love to dance. Now that I can say I'm pretty darn good at.

Why I am a Mormon

One of the huge reasons why I chose to be baptized into this church is because of the comfort I felt when I stepped into the Mormon chapel. The feeling was so overwhelming that I could not help but notice that my heart was filled with peace and I had a little voice at the back of my mind saying "Welcome home". The feeling I have every Sunday when I go to church, I can not find anywhere else. It is second best to the temple. I feel at home and relaxed when I am in the house of the Lord. I know that whatever has happened to me in the past week, whether it be stressful, chaotic or great, the chapel will take away my stress, make the chaotic go away and make my week ever more great. I love going to church and seeing all the wonderful people each week. I love seeing the smiling faces, saying hello to a brother or sister that I haven't seen in a while and fulfilling my calling. Church has changed my life and will forever bless my life. I know that from the grace of God that I am not alone in the world to face my trials, tribulations and the obstacles by myself. I am blessed to say this with the sincerity of my heart and the truth that I know to be real. I absolutely love my life. I couldn't have asked for anything better to have happen to me at this time of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing my love for everyone. I love my calling which is a Sunbeam teacher and I adore being able to help teach sisters when I go on my visiting teaching appointments. I try my hardest to pray and read the scriptures daily. When I first joined the church, I was always reminded to keep a constant prayer in my heart and that's what I try to do everyday, whether it'd be to have a good day, give my all in my job or improve the way I go about my life. I live my faith trying to be like Christ. Of course, I am no where near as perfect, but striving to be and God knowing my desires and struggles to become like Christ makes my faith stronger. I know that God is merciful and will always love me, flaws and all. I can not wait till I can see my Father again after this life.
