Hi I'm Amy

I love my life as a mother of two boys, a wife to my best friend, and I love the world around me! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a girl who LOVES life and the opportunites I have each day to learn, love, laugh, create, work, and play. I have a wonderful husband who supports our family so I can stay in our home to raise our two boys- the greatest work & calling I could ever have. Music has always been a part of my life, and have been teaching piano and guitar lessons for years out of my home. My favorite students are my two sons, who continue to let me teach them. I have many hobbies that I enjoy, including gardening, photography, sewing & crafting. I love to exercise and learn about nutrition & taking care of my body. I love to travel and have enjoyed many adventures seeing new places such as Israel, Jordan, The Netherlands, Italy, England, Mexico, France, Canada, and many wonderful states in the U.S. But my greatest adventure was serving as a missionary in the church in Venezuela for 18 months as a young woman. I learned the Spanish language and loved the culture & people there so much! After returning home from Venezuela, and marrying a wonderful man, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish with a minor in Music. I am blessed with dear friends in my life who I enjoy spending time with. And the greatest blessing in my life is being part of a family together with my husband, sons, parents, sisters, in-laws, neices, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in- law, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. They fill my life with joy and I cherish them!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a parents that were already members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I was raised in a very loving and nurturing home along with two younger sisters. I always enjoyed going to church with my family and was taught about Jesus Christ and his gospel not only at church but in my home. My family reached out to others in love and friendship, and I learned from a young age that loving others and showing kindness to all those around me, was one of the best ways to follow Jesus' example. I felt of His love in my life and didn't ever doubt that I had a Heavenly Father who was aware of me and loved me. I was baptized as a young girl at the age of 8 and remember that day still and the feeling I had of knowing I was doing the right thing by following Jesus and being baptized, making me a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That was one of the most important days of my life. Being a member of the church has shaped me and given me choice experiences and knowledge that have helped me and guided me through life and struggles along the way. Daily prayer has been a great source of peace as I have shared my thoughts and my soul with God, and made him a central part of my life and my decisions. I have felt his guidance and assurance in the path I have chosen and feel grateful I have allowed Him, who knows better that I, to direct me as I have sought answers to many prayers in my life. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and all of his Children, and that my Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died and lives again for all who will follow Him. That knowledge blesses me everyday as I live His teachings and am blessed with peace. That is why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I believe that just believing isn't enough- I have to "do" and live what I believe. I have always enjoyed being a part of a church who invites its members to serve and help and do all they can to bless the lives of others and further the work of the Lord and His church. I was able to teach the gospel to others full time as a missionary for 18 months and found great joy in that service. And since that time many years ago, I've enjoyed the opportunites I have to serve others, teach others, support others, and reach out to people with love and friendship. I have loved being able to play the organ & piano for church meetings and feel of the beautiful hymns and songs of the gospel. I have had the chance to be the music leader for the children and teach them songs about Heavenly Father & Jesus, as well as the leader of the children's organization of the church (the Primary), where I was able to teach them about Jesus Christ, the scriptures, living prophets today & other truths about the gospel. I have been involved with the youth and been able to plan activites for them and teach them not only the spiritual knowledge that they are daughters of God, but things like sewing, and taking care of themselves physically. I have always had other women that I visit on a monthly basis, and share a special message with that has strengthened not only them, but me as well. Perhaps most importantly, I try to live the gospel in my own home, where I teach my children and love them and my husband each day as we learn and grow together. We pray and read the scriptures each day together and doing this brings a peace and love in our home and family that strengthens us and makes our home a sanctuary from the world outside. I strive to follow my Savior Jesus Christ in my life by serving others and in His church.
