Hi I'm Mike Perkins

I grew up near Atlanta, Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Dad to four grown children and Grandpa to three pre-schoolers. Several careers have come and gone, but lastly I enjoyed working as a regional workforce scheduler at a major cable provider in the Southeastern United States. As a hobby, I like to sing and arrange music for several community choirs as well as our local church choir.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Protestant tradition, and I cherish my experiences there as a young man that led me to God. While attending university as a music major, however, I began an earnest investigation of all sorts of Christian denominations. Much like the quest of young Joseph Smith, I wondered which one I should join. After some time, I finally prayed about what I was reading in The Book of Mormon. Then, alone in the privacy of my room, I received a spiritual witness that was undeniable: it was true. Since then, I've served a mission, married in the Temple, and raised a family. I've always been grateful for what the Lord and His restored Gospel has added to my life and the lives of our family.

How I live my faith

I participate in my local church by visiting a few assigned families each month. I sing tenor regularly in the choir and also help out with special events from time to time, such as helping families move in or out as needed. Occasionally, we combine with other local churches for community charity efforts, which I enjoy as well.
