Hi I'm Dave

I'm a boardsport enthusiast, father of 8, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a native of Arizona and a huge boardsport fan. I love to Wakeboard, Snowboard, Skateboard, Longboard, and Surf. I have a incredible wife, 8 wonderful children, and am currently serving as a Bishop in the Phoenix area. My life focuses around my family and the church, and when time permits I love to wakeboard in the summer and snowboard in the winter among other outdoor sports and activities. I've always tried to put God first in my life, and although I'm far from perfect, it seems the more effort I put forth, the more blessed I am.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints has definitely been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I'm so grateful for the eternal perspective that the gospel gives me. Having the knowledge that God is real and that He has a purpose for each of us here on earth is something that motivates me in my everyday life. I'm grateful that he gave us his only Begotten son so that we could be redeemed of our sins and imperfections. I know that Jesus Christ is real and that he died for each of us so that we could return back to the presence of our Heavenly Father. The LDS Church is a church that has been "re-stored" on earth from the original church that Christ set up when he was on the earth. There are 12 apostles, priesthood authority, the sacrament, temple blessings, as well as great "treasures of knowledge" that have been revealed to help us in the Latter Days. I choose to be Mormon as I believe it contains the truths of the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ, restored for us in the latter days.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. These teachings are found in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I'm grateful for scriptures that teach the pure doctrines of gospel. I also live my faith by always trying to serve others, both in the church and outside the church. If we have true faith in Jesus Christ we will be obedient to his commandments. I'm working hard to teach my children to follow the Savior as well as they grow and face the many challenges of today's world.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. We only worship God our Eternal Father and his Son Jesus Christ. We do however believe he was a Prophet of God like Moses, Abraham, and Noah. God has always revealed his word through chosen servants from the time of Adam to Moses, from Jesus Christ to Peter, James, and John. We believe he continues in this pattern of revealing his word to man on earth through living Prophets. It does not make sense that God would follow that pattern for thousands of years, and now cease to reveal his word at a time when we need it the most. Show more Show less
