Hi I'm Trevor

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 24-year-old medical student at Rush University. My spare time is spent finding free events to attend in Chicago, meeting people of different backgrounds, blasting music in my 1996 Honda Civic, learning to cook new types of food, playing the piano, practicing speaking Russian, serving in the community, and going for a good swim.

Why I am a Mormon

My religion means everything to me. It has shaped my relationships, my educational pursuits, and my life goals. I'm a Mormon because I know that God is a living, loving God. He has worked in my life in so many ways. When I have sought to follow His commandments and His Son Jesus Christ, my life becomes more rewarding and meaningful. Because of the Book of Mormon, I know that Jesus Christ established His church on the earth today through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have come to form a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ because of the combined teachings found in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the words of living prophets. God has blessed me so abundantly and I try to offer to Him what little I can. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped me serve God to my fullest measure and learn to give to and love others with as much of myself as I can offer.

How I live my faith

Between my undergraduate years, I served a two-year mission for our church in Novosibirsk, Russia. I loved inviting people to learn more about Christ and His teachings. I witnessed firsthand how the application of simple principles can have a dramatic impact on a person's ability to find greater peace, direction, and joy in life. Since my mission, I have served in our church by teaching Sunday School classes and playing the piano for our congregation. Throughout the week, I try my best to live the teachings I learn on Sunday. In Chicago, I love serving in community food banks or at homeless shelters.
