Hi I'm Lisa

I think 4 year olds are awesome! I'm a Colorado girl, & someday I'm gonna swim with dolphins! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Flagstaff, AZ in house with 9 people, 1 shower, & all the love, music, and laughter a girl could ask for. I've been lucky to love my work in health care & education, but I love my work as wife and mother the most. I appreciate beauty, kindness, happiness... and daqauri ice sherbet!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into the Church of Jesus Christ, to parents who are stalwart in their faith. I grew up loving the Church, but as I got older, I wanted to be sure I was choosing to be LDS because of its views rather than by default. Consequently, I chose a Religious Studies minor in college as a way of understanding & evaluating various religions. I found value & goodness in all of them, but I found the LDS doctrines & principles to be the most complete and the most like the Church Christ established during New Testament times. And I loved how the gospel incorporates ALL truth wherever it is found. There are dozens of logical reasons for my choice to be a Mormon, but the ultimate reason is because of the spiritual confirmation I've received, telling me that Heavenly Father is the Father of my Spirit and that He loves me; Jesus Christ is His son and my Savior; Joseph Smith was a boy prophet who saw & spoke to them in a grove of trees and then became the prophet of the Restoration of Christ's Church; the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ that draws us closer to Him than any other book; and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm serving in the Church as the music chairperson for our congregation, and as the choir instructor for the LDS group of college students at CSU. One of the things I love about the Church is the fact that we get asked to help in a myriad of ways. So I've gotten to teach Sunday school to teenagers, work with the Young Women (ages 12-18), serve in a Primary presidency (organization for children), and teach & serve in the presidency of our women's service organization. All have been great experiences in their own rite, but my favorite thing ever was when my husband & I got to work in the Denver Temple one Saturday every month. That was sooooo neat!
