Hi I'm Jeremy

I'm a father, an electrical/software engineer, I like hiking and skateboarding, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Mormon family. We moved a lot when I was young--including a year in Taiwan--but we settled in Utah where I attended middle school through college. My interest in video games as a teen led me to pursue an education in computer engineering, and I now have a career in electronics and software engineering. I also enjoyed art, skateboarding, and birdwatching when I was growing up. Much of my time now is devoted to my family and work, but I try to get some hiking and skateboarding in once in a while, and hope to keep up on my Mandarin Chinese.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon by heritage and by choice. I was raised as a member of the church. Some of my father's ancestors crossed the plains as Mormon pioneers in the mid 1800's. My mother grew up in a faithful Catholic home. She joined the LDS church as an adult before she met my father. As a child and youth in the church, I learned to love the scripture stories. As a teenager and young adult, I started realizing what it means to live my faith. This was a time when, like many of my peers, I struggled to stay active in the church. Eventually I decided to live up to what I believed was true. I was blessed to be able to serve a two-year mission in Taiwan. Through many experiences of studying the scriptures, listening to our modern-day prophets and apostles, and serving in the church, I have seen the fruits of the restored gospel by which I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I try to stay near to God through prayer, scripture study, and living according to the commandments. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides a foundation of peace and strength, as well as a guiding direction to my life. I attend local church meetings each Sunday. I am currently serving in my ward by helping maintain membership records.
