Hi I'm Hilda.

I'm a bookworm, seamstress, and mother of six. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I first sat down at a sewing machine at the age of eleven, and I've been happily stitching away ever since. I enjoy creating formal attire and have sewn hundreds of dresses over the years. I especially enjoy helping girls make their dresses more modest. I read every day, both for entertainment and enlightenment. I love to take walks in the morning and go to zumba class. Baking is another hobby of mine. I raised six kids and spent time chauffeuring them to dance, piano, softball, baseball, basketball, soccer and guitar lessons, but most of all swim team. Our home and car smelled like chlorine for 25 years. It was a big job and kept us busy, but I loved it!

Why I am a Mormon

I love my family and want to be with them forever. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches how we can become an eternal family. I know that if I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and rely on His grace, my family can be saved and can be together forever.

How I live my faith

Each day I make time to read from the Book of Mormon. Like an old friend, it helps me find peace even on crazy days. On Sundays I teach the adult Sunday School class about the New Testament. I read the four gospels over and over as a young girl and love to teach about them. In the past I've also worked with the children's Sunday School, the Youth organization and the Cub Scouts. Over the years, I've found ways to help my community by serving on the PTA, High School Booster Club, swim team board and Park and Rec board.
