Hi I'm Nathan

My wife and I have two daughters. I like most sports including basketball, football, golf, and motor sports.

About Me

I work in the Green Energy field. I design HVAC systems for commercial buildings and develop other conservation measures to optimize building energy use. I feel it is our duty as citizens of the Earth to use our resources to the best of our ability and do it economically.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the church. I love the volume of doctrine that the church continues to collect from latter day prophets. One of my favorite quotes from a latter day prophet is, "While they (other religions) believe we are going to hell, we believe even they can be saved." I enjoy learning about what other people believe. Often, their faith strengthens my belief in our Savior. I am grateful to know that my family can live together for time and eternity.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending church like most Christians. Partaking of the Sacrament is an important part of my weekly meetings. I love to hear the testimonies of other members, because they strengthen mine. It has been and continues be enjoyable serving in different capacities of the church. Currently, I work with the missionaries helping teach the gospel. It is a joy to see my neighbors make changes in their life and receive the blessings of the gospel.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Nathan
We call our law of health the Word of Wisdom. It is a revelation that was given to the Prophet Joseph Smith over a century ago. While it describes substances that we should not take into our body, much of it are things we should be eating. We are counseled to eat fruits and vegetables in their season. Also to partake of meat sparingly. For me, the do's are much harder to live then the don'ts. I continue to work on my diet so I can better follow this law of health. It helps me to feel better and maintain my health. Show more Show less
