Hi I'm Kelly!

I lived for a certain period of time in Utah, and currently I live in Arizona. I am a fervent student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For start I love track and field. One might say that I like to have things balanced out (a continuous process), I love my family a lot for all the wisdom they have shared with me pertaining to that. I love learning languages and currently I am learning Spanish, but I have been working on Japanese for a while as well. Personally I like school, I mean it's nice to have a place to go where people put their time and effort to help you grow. As well as going to school I've grown to love the place where I live, it's a place which I find beautiful for the blessings I have been given (as well as the terrain). I also love all animals, yes, even bugs. That includes my fluffy cat who is afraid of strangers. I love to talk about positive topics, and I love those chances in my day when I can talk, listen, and want to help. I'm Kelly, and I'm mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My Mom and Dad and joined the church and eventually married each other for eternity. In result I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Even then it's definitely not a forced decision. I remember using my freedom to choose at one point not to listen to any of it, and it lead me to make very bad decisions in an already hard time in my family life. This went on for many years, It was sadness and emptiness that is something I never want to feel again. At one point I just decided, "You know what I don't want to continue this for the rest of my life." That's when I began to genuinely listen to what the gospel had to offer, and I saw something happy and different with those people who chose to try their best. It's most certainly a struggle, especially to recover from addiction and depression, but every step of the way as I look back there was something that pushed me forward to where I am now. I'm most certainly not perfect, but I know and continue to try to live the gospel because it's something that sustains you when no one else seems to. With this I know that the gospel isn't some cultural that changes, it's an expression of Gods love to his children that he will: forgive us if we try, answer our prays if we believe that he will, and change us into something that lasts longer than this earth. In these things I testify in my hope of being like him, in the name of the Redeemer, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by a desire to improve, and most importantly to grow closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Whether I avoid watching media that will damage how I view myself and others, desire to do more than I currently am doing, pray, read my scriptures, and be kind to those around me, avoid unclean thoughts and behaviors, etc. Sometimes it's overwhelming, but I think the most humbling way I live my faith is with the constant reminder that not everything I do is enough, but through my desire to improve the Savior will willingly pay the rest of the debt I have to him.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kelly!
The Atonement of Christ is the greatest gift that has ever been given! Due to the fall, all of us have sinned and fall short of returning to him. So God sent his only begotten and perfect son to die for our sins and take them upon him. That way through Faith and action in him we can be with him again. Show more Show less
