Hi I'm Erica

I'm a BYU student working towards medical school. I love Jane Austen, classic movies, running and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life, and my family. I grew up in the Northern Virginia/DC area. I am going to school at BYU studying Exercise Science and am working towards medical school and want to become a pediatric oncologist. I have experienced several health challenges in my life and look forward to giving back and helping others. I enjoy exploring new things and traveling, and making new friends. I have worked as a counselor for the Especially For Youth program and really enjoy spending time with and teaching youth and kids. I love interior design and watching HGTV. I also love old classic movies, sports especially barefoot running, soccer and watching baseball, and am a total music junkie.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the Church, but I have worked to develop my own testimony, knowledge and love for the Gospel. I know that it is the one and only way to true and everlasting happiness. It brings me comfort, peace and joy throughout all aspects of my life, through the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, even on difficult days, and through lasting challenges and trials. Joseph Smith truly restored this Gospel to the earth, and translated The Book of Mormon, which brings us countless blessings and knowledge of the Gospel. I love that Book and know it be true, with every fiber of my being, because I have read it and prayed to know whether it is true and received confirmation, that it is definitely true. I love Temples! We truly have eternal families and can receive infinite blessings, if we but take upon us the covenants available through baptism, and especially in the Holy Temple, and keep the commandments. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is a loving Brother and our Heavenly Father is truly a loving Father, they NEVER abandon us and seek to be our friends and closest confidantes if we but let them. I have seen this in my own life, as I have dealt with health challenges and other trials, at times when we feel like giving up, if we turn to the Savior and Heavenly Father, they can help ease our burdens, comfort us and give us endless hope. I have a testimony of the power of prayer, and the love ,comfort, and guidance it can provide. We are never taller than when we are on our knees!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others, keeping and cherishing the covenants and commandments that I have promised to follow. I also strive to show my Heavenly Father, my love for him, through my daily actions and decisions . I have spent the past summer working with the Especially For Youth program, which has allowed me to serve, learn with and teach youth of the truths and doctrines of the Gospel. I have had the opportunity to bear my testimony countless times a day to these precious youth and children of God, of the love the Savior has for them, and of the truthfulness of his "good news", the Gospel. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a Ward Missionary. I was able to serve others, teach the lessons in Preach My Gospel, thus, spreading the Gospel and was able to learn from the local missionaries. Additionally, I regularly reading and studying the scriptures, and communicate with my Heavenly Father in prayer, learning the things He would have me learn.
