Hi I'm Roxanne

I am happy and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My life revolves around my family. Although I graduated from college with a degree in Psychology, rather than pursuing a career, I have chosen to devote my time to raising my five children full-time, and that keeps me pretty busy! Along with all the laundry, homework, and soccer games, I enjoy reading, exercising, playing piano, bike-rides, and going on dates with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned that following the teachings of Jesus Christ leads to happiness and peace in life. I know, through study and prayer, that Jesus is the Savior of the world and that only through Him can we be saved. I know that He is at the head of this church and has called modern prophets to lead us. In addition, the gospel helps me understand the purpose of this life. That knowledge gives me strength during challenges and peace in an often chaotic world.

How I live my faith

I try to devote much of my life to serving others. That includes first, my family, then my congregation, friends, neighbors, or anyone else I know of that needs a helping hand or a smile.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Roxanne
That is simply the way the Lord set it up. Just like on a sports team where each person has his role, so it is in the Lord's church. And that's ok! Holding the Priesthood doesn't make one better or more important. Those who hold the priesthood just have certain responsibilities, all of which are meant to bless others- both men and women. Women have so many opportunities to lead and serve in the church as well. The women's and youth organizations are led by female presidencies and women can also serve as teachers, organizers, musicians and so forth. We serve beside the men, not behind or ahead of them. So many of my talents and abilities have been utilized and strengthened by holding different positions in the church. Show more Show less
