Hi I'm Jeron

I'm a college graduate. I'm studying to be a Marriage and Family Therapist. I love soccer. I'm an uncle of 16. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California, lived for several years in Utah for college and graduated in spring 2013, and now I am a single man living in Texas attending a masters program for Marriage and Family Therapy. I absolutely LOVE soccer and follow every MLS game I can! Being outdoors is so wonderful, but I truly miss the mountains. All day I could talk about the importance of families and the great fun I had growing up in a large family myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I have prayed and through faith found out on my own that God has called a prophet in our day like He has in the scriptures with the prophets Moses, Isaiah, and in the New Testament with Paul. That man who was called was Joseph Smith. He was called to be a Prophet in 1820. Through reading the Book of Mormon, which was scripture and another testament of Jesus Christ that was revealed to Joseph Smith, and praying to know the truth of these things, I have gained a testimony that the Lord's church that He set up in the days of the New Testament is again here on the earth. Another way to know why I am a Mormon is to look upon my smiling face. This Gospel brings me such happiness and peace that I have never found else where. It has brought me closer to my Father in Heaven, and His son Jesus Christ. He has a plan for us all to return home with our families, and live eternally with Him. It is this plan that I love so much, and I know to be true! This plan is not found anywhere else, and this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fulfilling my calling at church as the 1st Counselor in the Elder's Quorum Presidency. Basically, I help a group of men to serve their Heavenly Father and grow in faith. Often, I find time during the week to go out with missionaries to share my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings me great opportunities to share my testimony of a restored Gospel, and that the Lord's true church has been brought back to the earth in its fulness. I know that church to be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. What living my faith means to me, is that each day I remember my Father in Heaven and do as He has commanded through prophets both in the scriptures and that live currently on earth today. Living my faith means that I will strive each day to follow the Savior's example and come closer in relationship to him.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Jeron
Mormon or Mormonism came from our belief in the Book of Mormon, which we believe is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a companion book to the Bible. It compliments the Bible by also teaching the doctrine of Christ. It contains many writings of ancient prophets that lived here in the Americas during the time of the Bible. Mormon was one of those prophets towards the end of the book. These prophets taught the Gospel to the ancient people that lived here in the Americas. This book will also bring a man closer to God because it contains the fulness of the Gospel. Mormon became a nickname because of the books title, but the real name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some refer to us as LDS for short. Show more Show less
