Hi I'm Matt

I live in Brisbane Australia, I am a devoted husband, I'm a father of seven cherubs, I'm a teacher & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up for part of my childhood on a dairy farm in South Australia and learned some things about life. I played sports all my life and played lacrosse as my chosen sport. My family and extended family are mostly accountants but i didn't feel that was my best talent or skill in deciding a profession. After a number of years in working in retail and teaching in Sunday School, I discovered what I love doing the most, teaching. I become a better student at university because I knew what I wanted to do, and that was in part to work with youth and young adults. I am very blessed that I also now train teachers to teach youth and young adults, as well as teach my favourite thing, 'The Gospel of Jesus Christ'.

Why I am a Mormon

Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been part of my whole life. My parents were both converts to the faith. Due to pressures and problems that I was not aware in my young years, my parents divorced when I was about 12 years old and I lived with my mother, I realized how much I needed help and support from those in the church and I got great role models who reached out and blessed my life. There is always that moment when you know that either the church I am attending is true and I should prepare my life to proclaim it to all the world as a missionary, or it is false and a hoax and I should go search the world for where the truth is and follow my heart. Well I followed my heart, but my heart confirmed to me by the Holy Ghost that this church was true, ans so I did go and proclaim the gospel to people in Victoria and Tasmania for two years. My testimony has only grown stronger from that time on.

How I live my faith

Now as a husband and father of seven children, I am constantly looking for ways to keep my family busy and helping each member of the family to achieve well in what they pursue. I married a wonderful wife who helps to keep our home in order and together we have made family traditions that help children look forward to milestones, to celebrations and most importantly that help us all to focus on Jesus Christ and his great love for us. I really like one sentence in our mission statement for our family "Our home is a place we want to come home to". I believe that wanting to be at home with family is a conscious choice and the sooner you learn to want to be with family and want to spend time with them, the sooner you will find where true happiness lies.
