Hi I'm Liz

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I have 3 daughters, 1 son and two grandchildren. I have been fortunate to stay home and raise our children. They are the joy of my life. I love spending my time with them. Of course as they are finding their own way in life I am learning that I have to do different things with my time. I have started to teach parent/child swim lessons. I am working on my CPR training and thinking about life guard training. We live on 5 wooded acres. I like going outside and working. That might include getting on my tractor or getting out my chain saw and taking down a tree. My husband and I are currently working on building a small cabin in our woods for the grandchildren. At times I have been know to come in from outside and decorate a wedding cake.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my mother is a Mormon. At least that is how it all got started. My mother joined when I was about 3 years old. Dad never joined the Mormon faith. That brought a lot of contention in the home and life was not good. Mom took us to church when she could. It was the examples of others around me that helped me decide what I wanted in my life. I always felt good and safe when I was around other members. Something that was missing at home. As I grew older I came to realized that the gospel is what gave me that feeling of love and safety. Even though there was very little love at home I knew my Heavenly Father loved me. After my mom and dad divorce, my mother I moved from the area. Life in general was no different then any other. We had our struggles. We worked hard. We were active at church. I always wondered when I would get my own testimony of the gospel. I realized one day that I have always had a testimony. My Heavenly Father loves me. He has always loved me and has kept me safe. From the time I was a little girl. I have grown into my testimony. He answers my prayers. He has given me strength beyond what I thought possible. His tender mercies have been a witness to me of his love for me.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to be of service to those around me. At church I have mostly been able to work with the ladies of our area. Recently I am helping with those who need some relief because of illness in the family or maybe a injury or a death. I help organize meals that can be taken in or some house keeping. Maybe rides to appointments. Just about anything that will provide some relief. I am finding joy in serving the ladies in my area. My favorite thing to do is going to what is called humanitarian day. A bunch of us ladies get together and work on projects that are needed to help those around the world or even in our local area. We work on quilts, infant clothing, hygiene kits, learning kits, or anything else that we find that is a need in our area.
