Hi I'm Alyssa

I was born and raised in Lakeside. I love being outdoors doing pretty much anything and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really like hanging out and having a great time with my friends! I love to go horseback riding and I have trained and am still training my own horse. I love to run with my friends to stay healthy and active. I love to hike and mountain bike with my dog, Tommy! I really like to just sit in the woods and appreciate the beauty of the Earth and the peace and quiet of nature. I like to play ping pong and kayak with my best friends. Swimming in lakes is the thing to do with us when its warm! I like to play the piano. I love nature!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church but recently I have gained my own testimony of its truthfulness. I always believed it was true but never really knew it was. I didn't understand a lot of things or really even care to. It wasn't until one of my good friends encouraged me to pray about some choices that I had made and some things that I thought, that I really started to gain my own testimony of the Church and personal revelation. You can't know something like the Church is true because people tell you that it is. You have to read, pray, ponder, and really study it out with an open heart that is ready to accept the answer that He will give you. You have to feel the answer for yourself. Once you receive the answer you need to act on it. That is something that I have been trying to do and will continue to do for the rest of my life. I know that this really is the true Church and that with it and by following the teachings of Church leaders and the commandments, we can return to live with our Father in Heaven, and become perfected through Christ, IF we are willing to act.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a friend to all and being an example. I try to do my best to bring people up and not put them down. I try my hardest to live by the standards of the church. It's my freshman year in college and the pressure is on. Lots of people who don't even know me watch me and look up to me. I try my hardest to be the best example that I can be. Sometimes it can be hard but in the eternal scheme of things, being my best self and heading the counsel Church leaders and the scriptures is definitely worth it. I love this gospel and my friends. We help keep each other doing whats right all of the time and we help keep each other strong in the Church. Without the help and friendship of my friends, I'd be nothing.
