Hi I'm Michelle

I am married with five chidren, my families happiness is the most important thing to me and I am a Mormon.

About Me

As I mentioned at the beginning, I have five children, three of which have asperger which is a disability closely associated with autism. This keeps me very busy, however I do like to help others and this is why I decided to become a qualified counsellor. I only work on a casual basis so I can be home for my children before and after school.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a member of the church all my life, I still had to find out for myself if what I was taught as a child rang true and was right for me. I decided to do this when I was 15 years old. I decided that I would pray and ask God for myself if what I was learning was true. When I prayed I felt so warm inside that I could not deny it. I knew that it was true. I have learnt since that time that those feelings were the Holy Spirit. I have felt that deep warm feeling many times since then, confirming different truths to me. This understanding and knowledge has helped me throughout my whole life to find happiness even in the hardest times. I have learnt that God is always there for us when we ask for help, he never turns from us, he only embraces us in times of need. I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself that the things they teach are true and that God is there no matter what. Anyone can find this same great happiness too, as they are willing to follow God's teachings and truths. These teachings and truths help people follow good old fashion values that have somewhat been lost in our society. These include things like- kindness, honesty, empathy and respect for each other. These values help not hurt others, I believe that God wants each of us to fully embraces these values in our lives. By doing so we not only help others feel uplifted and loved we help ourselves find that great happiness spoken about. I know I want this throughout my whole life. I am a Mormon because their teachings truths help me achieve my happiness goals for myself and my family.

How I live my faith

As I live the way God wants me to I find great joy and happiness in my life. I believe this happens as I help others in any way I can. This could be as simple as a smile or a hand on someone's shoulder or as big as counselling someone in need. I strive to be honest, kind and relible in all my dealings with others, sometimes I don't do as well as I would like, but I know that I can try again and do better next time. We all make mistakes but it's all about getting back up when we fall. God can help us do that.
