Hi I'm Lynette

I live in the forest. I teach children of all ages how to be safe and confident through swimming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate and a newly wed. I work a full time job trying to make ends meet. I love my job because I get to play with children and watch them discover how special they are. When I have a spare moment I love singing with my sisters, playing with my nephew, doing anything outside, and spending time with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of this church! I knew from a very young age for myself that this is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I was encouraged by my parents and leaders to search questions of faith out for myself. I turned to the scriptures to know if things were true, and the holy spirit testified to me that they were. I know that The Book of Mormon is a true book from God. Reading and applying its principles will bring everlasting joy and happiness. I know that this life is not easy. There are times when all I want to do is throw my hands in the air and tell my Heavenly Father that "I can't do it anymore" and every time I feel that still small voice whispering to me, "you can do it. I'm with you." Being a Mormon is more than a weekly religion for me; it takes every moment of every day trying to make it. I know we can all find true joy through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a large commitment, however it is the best decision you will ever make. I find that it is more than a weekly service, it is daily small actions that makes a difference. When I read from my scriptures and have sincere daily prayer my heart is turned to my Heavenly Father and his will for me and my family. When I neglect these actions, things are difficult and I get irritated a lot easier. I know that these small actions add up. I get to serve my community by teaching a weekly class to young women age 16-18 about how to be strong and confident. We have lessons that encourage these sweet young ladies to be educated and to be leaders in their homes and communities. I've loved watching them grow up to be wives and scholars-each one different and special.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Pornography is a great addiction that is destroying homes, families, and lives. It is so easy to access that most victims do not know what they've stumbled upon before it is too late. Encourage your families to talk about the dangers of pornography and come up with an action plan on how to avoid it. Let them know that it is okay to walk out of a movie or call if they are uncomfortable. I have walked out of several movies I've been uncomfortable with. My friends now know what things I will and will not watch . I get left out of some activities, but I have remained free from the addiction to pornography. Show more Show less
