Hi I'm Tammy

I'm a Mother and Business Owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband Ben and I started our own business shortly after we were married about 16 years ago. 14 years ago we had the privilege of buying into a business similar to ours with another married couple. It took 10 years to have our first child, Holly who is now nearly 7, but in the meantime we were blessed to be able to build our business and to travel overseas quite a bit. We have since had little Oscar who is nearly 2. I feel so blessed to have a wonderful family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born and raised in the church. I have fantastic parents who have taught me so much about Jesus Christ and how to be like him. I grew up in a large family, and though money was often scarce, my mum and dad taught me that charity is important and they would always give whatever they could to help others. Often our house was full of people who had been invited for dinner. I remember helping mum make pizzas a lot. This was a favourite among visitors as mum made extremely delicious pizzas! When I was little, my family moved from Adelaide to Sydney and we lost just about everything that was being transported via truck in a fire. Before the fire occurred, I remember my mum praying for the well being of the truck driver as she was a little concerned that our belongings were quite late. Not long after that we got the phone call about the truck rolling and all our gear being destroyed. The driver was OK. Even though I was quite young, I knew this was an answer to that specific prayer my mum had offered. I have known ever since then, that God hears our prayers and he answers them. Many times in my life since, he has answered my prayers, not always in the way I thought they should be answered. The 10 years it took to have our first child were perhaps the toughest. I often prayed for children, but I know Heavenly Father knows me better than I know myself, and that the 10 years were needed for me to grow up and to help grow our business to a point where I wasn't needed everyday and that I could devote time to being a mother.

How I live my faith

I am very fortunate to help look after the little children from 18 months to 3 years in a class called Nursery. We have a lovely group of children which we have the opportunity to teach every Sunday about Jesus and his work upon the earth. It's really delightful when the little ones start to fold their arms ready for prayer time and when they recognise pictures of the Saviour. It is such a privilege working with these gorgeous little ones and seeing them grow.
