Hi I'm Vivian

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a daughter, sister, wife, and soon-to-be mother. I am half Assyrian and half Italian. I went to BYU- Idaho and loved my experience there. I love camping, river rafting, spending time with family and friends, watching movies with my husband, and listening to music. I love the snow, the mountains, and all the beautiful creations God has created on this earth. I am the person I am today because of the church in my life. I'm not perfect, I have made many mistakes, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has shaped me into a woman who strives to do good and tries to be the daughter of God he sees me as.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts to the church and I grew up Mormon. Many have their own experiences, but for me it was simple... I always felt the spirit. I didn't have a big manifestation or a one time answer. From the time I can remember growing up in the church, I have always felt good about where I was and what I was doing. Whether I was in church on Sundays, youth activities, or listening to General Conference, I have always felt the spirit confirm to me over and over again that the church is true and that I was in the right place. I am so grateful that the gospel has been with me all my life. I can't imagine living without it. It brings peace and joy into me and my family. This life is not easy, we all go through such difficult times and it is such a blessing to have the gospel to help me through them and to know that our Savior has felt our pain and sorrows and can give us the comfort and hope that we all need. I know Jesus Christ lives and is always there for us. I know with all my heart that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and he could not deny it. I believe in having prophets and apostles today and what a blessing it is to have them lead and guide us in our own generation. The Lord lives and wants to guide us on the right path and he can do that through the prophet just as he did in old times. The church is a blessing to me and has always given me faith, hope, and great joy.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith as best as I can. I know I can do better but I try to participate in church as often as I can. I have been so blessed to participate in different areas of the church. I have participated in teaching, missionary work, and I am now currently working with the youth. I love being able to help the youth in our church. They are such great examples to me and I always learn from them. I hope that I am making a difference in their lives and helping them stay on the right path. I attend meetings and activities striving to learn and grow and give my own support and service to others as best as I can. Being involved in the church truly makes my life more meaningful and helps me on this journey called life.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Having the scriptures is a wonderful gift. I need to take far more advantage of them than I do now because they provide us with the strength and spirit we need each day to live righteously. The scriptures are here for us to study and learn of them. They give us knowledge and understanding and provide us with examples that can be related to our own experiences we face. I love reading the scriptures because they always make me feel better, especially in times of need. I believe our Heavenly Father can communicate to us through reading the scriptures. I find comfort and answers to many questions and obstacles in my life as I read them. i also believe that the scriptures truly testify of Christ and his divinity. When I read the scriptures I feel closer to Christ and it helps me want to be more like Him. Show more Show less
