Hi I'm Ashley

I love the fine arts and performing arts programs, as well as academics - both learning and teaching. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student - studying to be a high school English teacher, mainly because of my love for the English language. I enjoy photography and taking walks in the woods because nature has always fascinated me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member because Christ has always been that guiding light in my life - I could always turn to Him in times of need and He always answered my prayers. The answers may not always be what I want, but they've always been exactly what I needed. I'll always be grateful for His sacrifice to bring about the atonement so that we could repent of our sins and find our way back on the straight and narrow path back to our Heavenly Father. The scriptures bring so much joy into my life when I read them - I can always find words of encouragement, answers to prayers and guidance. There's such peace in my life just by doing the simple acts of sincere prayer, searching the scriptures and attending church meetings because I constantly feel God's love for me.

How I live my faith

I teach the twelve and thirteen year old girls in my ward, which is always fun because I love to share the teachings of Christ with others so that they can feel the joy it brings in my life as well. I remember having really amazing teachers as a youth and I wanted to give the same blessings that I received growing up. I've found that most of my teaching experience is just being an example to these girls and showing them the blessings of living the gospel on a daily basis. It's definitely hard at times and I've had to face my share of trials and make hard decisions, but I know that if Heavenly Father brought me to a difficult challenge, He'll always help me through it. It's by striving to be an example to others that I live my faith and show my love for the church.
